Edward Kelly (GB)

Edward Kelly is a composer and performer from the UK. He started working with MAX in the mid 1990's to build a control interface for an eight channel diffusion system, and discovered Linux and Pure Data in 2000 as a FLOSS alternative. Since then he has developed externals for PD and continues to develop the Metastudio and MetaVJ for Pure Data. He performs with Openlab London, and records as Lone Shark (Electro), with Vacuum Science (Dubstep) and as a solo artist (Synchroma).

The Metastudio is an ongoing project to design a modular music performance system that is quick to set up in a host of different configurations. The forthcoming release of Metastudio and MetaVJ includes various improvements to the design, as well as a number of modules that are self-building intruments for the creation of random synthesizers and large polyphonic structures.
