Hocus Pocus Lectures

The lectures “hocus pocus” research the role open source plays in the understanding of software art. Source code is abracadabra for many, but in fact the hiding of it leads to even more confusion. The term hocus pocus is used by magicians and wizards to distract the audience of what is happening under the table. Binairy files without their source code only show the results, not the underlying processes. Away with the smoke curtain!

With Florian Cramer, Joasia Krysa (cancelled), Martin Howse, and Dmytri Kleiner.
