Candy Claws

The sea, the plants and animals around us, and life in past times are all the favorite themes of Candy Claws. This electronic/pop ensemble is inspired by nature books, landscapes and also punctuate their tracks with field recording. The video for their track ‘The Breathing Fire’ reminded me a little of a movie called ‘Picnic at Hanging Rock’: a mysterious atmosphere, the communion with nature and lost innocence. The way sounds, murmurs and rustles are put together reinforce the timeless nature of their work.
Last but not least, you might also want to check their ‘Candy Claws in dreamland’ video series.

A shellfish once described their music as having your hand in a toaster, but at the same time catching a lovely breeze from the ocean.

This enigmatic Grecian duo has attracted a lot of attention, right away, since its debut EP ‘In Love With Dusk’, as well as with its remixes. This album was followed by a 7-inch single released on Transparent records. ‘Hauntin’ me’ is one of my favourite tracks. It has a great video by Jamie Harley. (more…)
