Corduroi

New music discovery from Austin, Texas.
Cody Wilson is the man behind Corduroi. I don’t know much about this electronic artist since I just stumbled upon him a few days ago.
You can download his five-track EP ‘Anything For Now’ for free off bandcamp. ‘My Dear’ is most definitely my favourite track on the release. Mrs. Magician

This time I had the chance to interview San Diego based pop/post-punk band Mrs. Magician.
Mrs. Magician are Jacob Turnbloom, Thomas Garcia, Evan Ehrich and Cory Stier. Their latest seven inch ‘The Spells’ was released on Loud & Clear Records in March 2011. ‘There Is No God’ was the track that really caught my attention.
The quartet is currently busy mastering its new album coming out in June. I cannot wait to hear more from them! (more…)

Sleepover

Sleepover is an electronic duo born from the meeting of Miranda Rae and Charlie Astro.
Miranda Rae is a singer-songwriter and violinist from Chicago. Charlie Astro is a multi-instrumentalist and producer from Miami.

Work Drugs

My summer has just begun. You might wonder how’s that possible. Well, I’m listening to ‘Curious Serge’, the newest single from Philadelphia trio Work Drugs.
Work Drugs is Thomas Crystal, Benjamin Louisiana and Joan Wellfleet. They just released their double debut album ‘Tropic of Cancer/ Tropic of Capricorn’ and will be supporting Two Door Cinema Club on their upcoming tour.

The Weather Station

Another day, another interview!
Lead singer Tamara Lindeman from Toronto (CA) band The Weather Station was kind enough to answer my little interview.
The Weather Station is the project of Tamara Lindeman (and lovely collaborators as well). Their debut album called ‘The Line’ is amazing (their song ‘East’ is a favourite of mine) and they just completed their sophomore album, expected to be release this summer. Well, I will say no more. Aidan Knight

For my first interview, I am very pleased to receive Aidan Knight, a talented singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist based in Victoria BC (CA).
Aidan Knight already released four EPs, ‘First Takes’, ‘Hi There’, ‘Awktober’ and ‘Friendly Fires’, plus a full-length called ‘Versicolour’.
